Changing your words to become happy

Why are so many people constantly chasing happiness? With thousands of books and articles written on positive thinking and self help you would think that more men and women would just “get it” by now. But the truth is that many people just aren’t willing to put in the effort to change their line of thinking.

Yes it takes mental effort on your part if you truly want to find happiness and remain happy for the rest of your life. Is it hard to do? Not really. In fact, you can change your entire emotional well-being with the flick of a switch. But how does one do that? How can a person just decide to be happy?

One of the most talked about and suggested ways of becoming a happier, more positive person in life is to change your negative statements to positive statements. Now before I begin to tell you how useful it is to change the way you talk, I want you to now that it is not easy to change the way you think. I understand this. Your thinking is the result of everything that you have experienced throughout life. Every person you have talked to, every family member you have had in your life, television, radio, school, college, work, etc.

It’s hard but it is worth it. Once you learn to forget everything you have ever learned from other people and start from scratch with the tips outlined in this article, you will be well on your way to feeling joy and happiness every moment of the day.

Why is it difficult to change the way we think? It is because thoughts are intangible. In other words, you cannot see them. So the best way to start programming yourself for happiness is to change the way you speak.

Think about it for a moment. After-all, if you are speaking something then that means that you must be thinking about it too, right? So it is important to start listening to what you are saying when you talk. Whenever you hear a negative statement coming out of your mouth then immediately make a conscience effort to make the statement into a positive one.

The same goes for any type of negative thoughts that run across your mind. Most people do not pay attention to their thoughts but if they did they would be simply amazed at how much negativity is going on inside. Try to get away from labeling people, judging people, categorizing people. Stop deciding if something is right or wrong, good or bad, etc. Use that energy for positive thoughts.
